Integrational Enterprises
Integration Enterprises are legally and economically independent companies that compete with other companies. They employ between 25 and 50 percent of people with disabilities on a permanent basis. These people with special needs are specially supported and trained. At the same time they pursue economic goals. Integration enterprises aim to find a job in the general labour market for handicapped people (mobilization, further training and vocational integration).
Integration Enterprises, their tasks and financial support are regulated in the Social Code (SGB). They provide jobs for people with disabilities who would not be able to compete in the general labour market without special support or a special framework. Nevertheless, these enterprises face economic competition and demand a reasonable level of performance from their employees (on average 60-70% of the capacity of non-integration enterprises).
The business areas of integration enterprises are as diverse as the general market itself. Many are engaged in industrial production, services or retail trade. There are no differences in the rights and obligations of employees. The expectations of individual employees are high. Nevertheless, the company will organise work in such a way, that restrictions resulting from a disability, are adequately taken into account. This can result, for example, in special equipment, particularly structured work processes and an organisation adapted to the good and bad phases of the human constitution. Another special feature of integration enterprises is the establishment of a social service with appropriately qualified and adequately provided personnel.
A focus on quality management is indispensable in integration enterprises in order to meet the legal and official requirements as well as the customer requirements in the long term.
